Students in the Champions afterschool program can shop the Book Fair with their group.

🧙‍♀️ Evening Shopping during PTA Costume Exchange – Wednesday, Oct. 15, 6–7 pm

Bring the whole family! Shop the Book Fair and check out the PTA Costume Exchange — a fun way to trade costumes and get ready for Halloween.

Students can bring a Very Important Person — a parent, grandparent, or special adult — to visit the Book Fair together after their classroom time.

Big Boo!

Friday, Oct 24th, 6-8pm

Save the date for one of the most anticipated nights at Capitol Hill — The Big Boo! Our school will transform into a Halloween carnival filled with games, crafts, dancing, and spooky treats.

🎟️ Tickets will be available the week of the event.

OCTOBER FUNDRAISERS

Support Our CHE Community — Volunteer!

Our fun events are 100% volunteer-run, and we need a lot of parent power to make things run smoothly. Please take a look at the open needs below and sign up. We cannot do this without you!

✨ UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES ✨

Auction Committee

  • Our school has an annual auction in the spring which is our biggest fundraiser, and we need to get planning ASAP! We have a lead parent with some great ideas who would love to find a co-chair to help plan.

Family Fun Nights

  • Put on the school dance, family movie night, or OMSI night

Classroom Volunteering

  • Photography: One parent per class needed to take photos throughout the school year for our free yearbook
  • Gardening: One parent per class to help with prep work, planting and lessons (does not need a green thumb, all materials will be provided)

Schoolyard Project

  • Let's transform our schoolyard from blacktop to an inviting, green play space! We are looking for folks to donate their brainpower — especially if you have experience with: architecture, construction, engineering, landscaping, project management, grant writing, or general awesomeness. Contact schoolyard@capitolhillelementary.com for more information.

Please contact Tabitha Ames and Jean-Francois Ortiz at volunteer@capitolhillelementary.com if you'd like to learn more about any opportunities above.

Volunteer Opportunities
Join the Capitol Hill PTA

The PTA helps make Capitol Hill Elementary such a special place — organizing the events and programs our students love. Joining is a great way to meet other families, stay informed, and support our teachers and school.

🔔 Reminder: Even if you were a member last year, please renew for the 2025–2026 school year.

All are welcome at our next PTA meeting — Wednesday, November 12, 6–7 p.m. You don’t need to be a member to attend or volunteer!
