Photos Needed for Yearbook

Did you know that every June our PTA provides a free yearbook to every single Capitol Hill student? To make that happen we need photos of our kids!

If you have any photos taken:

  • during a class field trip
  • at a school activity or assembly
  • at a PTA event (OMSI night, Family Dance, Art Box, etc.)

please email them to comm@capitolhillelementary.com. If you'd rather text them, send us an email and we'll provide a mobile number for you.

If you're attending a future event or volunteering in the classroom, please remember to take photos and send them our way!

2025-2026 PTA Board & Event Lead Openings

Have you thought about volunteering on the PTA or PTA board? Our community needs you! Now is your chance to sign up for the 2025-2026 school year.

Open board positions:

  • Vice President - Oversees fundraising (spirit wear, holiday greenery, dining out nights)
  • Volunteer Coordinator 2 - Creates excel schedules and sends email requests (Shared position with Volunteer Coordinator 1)

Events:

Each event has a Lead (and/or team) that oversees its coordination. Leads and co-leads for all events need to be secured before the end of school year.

The coolest part? You can either use documentation from last year to plug-and-play easily or you can make the event your own! Many events are very flexible - you don't have to do it like it has always been done. Sign up as a lead and we'll help you run with it!

The PTA has opportunities for all types of people and schedules, if there is a barrier in your way, please reach out to talk to us about how we can make you feel welcome. Events that our children love need a large group of involved adults to make them happen. If no one volunteers to run longstanding events, they will be cancelled.

Click here to see all open positions and sign up for a spot.

Please reach to Tabitha Ames, amestabs@gmail.com, or any other current board member with any questions.

Join a Capitol Hill PTA Meeting

Join us for our last PTA meeting! It's a great chance to talk to involved parents about their experiences with the PTA.

The PTA meets monthly. Meetings are hosted by the board, and open to all parents and Capitol Hill staff. Each meeting has a guest speaker or topic of the month, and is a great chance to ask questions, meet other families, and learn about the work we are doing to raise funds for our teachers and school. You do not need to be a paying member to join a meeting.

Join us on Wednesday, May 14, to learn about open volunteer options and to learn about OBOB!

5:30pm - 6:30pm in the Capitol Hill Library. If you're unable to attend in person, a Zoom link is sent the week of the meeting. All are welcome.

We see the same faces most months but we really want to see YOU. If you have questions or something is stopping you from joining, please let us know
